Waste Free Wrapping for Valentine's Day
Hey friends, Cindy here! Can you believe Valentine's Day is only three days away? If you haven't gotten around to wrapping your Valentine's gifts, we have a few wrapping alternatives for you below!
Reusable gift bags are my go-to. They can be reused for just about anything from fresh baked goods to secret love notes.
Our gift bags are made of an Organic 50/50 blend of Flax Linen and Hemp for the perfect texture and softness. They can be used repeatedly for bulk food purchases, storing small toys, or regifting without waste!
Wrapping with a Tea Towel is a great two gifts in one. This works best for wrapping bouquets, cutting boards and cookbooks!
BONUS | WHEN WRAPPING A COOKBOOK, BOOKMARK YOUR FAVOURITE RECIPE WITH A NOTE FOR AN EXTRA PERSONALIZED TOUCH!
Another two for one! You can wrap just about anything in a Sponge Cloth!
A fancy bottle of olive or truffle oil for the chef, a gorgeous engraved rolling pin for the baker, or a bottle of wine for the two of you. The possibilities are endless and sustainable!

TRADITIONAL TAPE ALTERNATIVES
Standard sticky tape is not recyclable and must be removed from anything that can be recycled. It is not biodegradable and, just like most things, ends up in our landfills...forever. Here are a few great alternatives to traditional tape.
String, Twine and Reused Ribbon
Swap out the tape entirely when possible, and give a more sustainable option a try. I try to reuse as much ribbon from previous packages and gifts as possible. Sometimes the ribbon may be too short, and I will use string or hemp-twine instead.
Cellulose is completely biodegradable (like our Sponge Cloths) and an incredible tape alternative.
This is another excellent tape alternative but works better on boxes as it is water activated. It can be recycled while still on the box and is 100% biodegradable.
Have you used a Sponge Cloth or Tea Towel to wrap any of your gifts? We would love to see your creations so be sure to tag us #MyTenandCo.
