Happy Cinco De Mayo Friends!
I just wanted to share this delicious Smoky Jalapeno Margarita recipe. It's one of my favourite cocktails adapted from the Barefoot Contessa her self.
Here's what you'll need!
Jalapeno Infused Tequila Prep
Start by cutting up a jalapeno and pop it into a mason jar, top with 1 cup of your favourite tequila and allow to infuse for 24 hours at room temp!
In a cocktail shaker combine the following over ice
+ 2 oz Jalapeno Infused Tequila
+ 1 oz Orange Liqueur ( I used Cointreau)
+ 2 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
+ 0.5 oz Simple Syrup
+ Pinch of Salt
SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE!
I like to rim the glass with a mix of equal parts sugar, salt and lemon zest! Pour through a strainer onto fresh ice and garish with a lime, a few fresh jalapenos and if you have, edible Pansies!
