Joes Gift Guide | The Adventure Seeker

Guess Where Trips

Personally, I enjoy creating itineraries for trips, complete with excel spreadsheets, hyperlinks and maps. As fun is for me, I recognize that it may not be everyone's cup of tea. Guess Where Trips provide one-day self-guided surprise trips around Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver. Once you select the type of trip you want to embark on, the package will come with a 'Before You Go' envelope and four surprise stop envelopes. Each stop includes a curated itinerary about the area or attraction you'll be going to as well as other roadside recommendations.

Moment Lens

I'm sure most of us have countless photographs on our phones of trips we've taken and the places we have been to. Mobile phone cameras have come a long way in terms of camera specifications. This fun little gadget attaches to your phone. It gives you just that little extra capability to capture some of those subtle nuances that truly make a picture worth a thousand words.

Compass

This is one of those gifts that just keep giving! Imagine gifting someone the ability to find themselves, quite literally. Whether the person is out backcountry camping or out on the lake canoeing, a compass is a handy piece of equipment that is rather fun to carry around. I was given a compass before I embarked on my very 1st voyage as a cadet and I carry it with me proudly to this day.

Joe's Gift Guide | Food and Drink Connoisseur

The Drunken Botanist

I am a die-hard "Fun fact" person, especially when it comes to the drinks at a party. I also love a good story with all its glorious context. That is exactly what the drunken botanist delivers. I was given this book as a gift a couple of years ago, and it has earned its rightful place just off the bar.
It's full of the weird and wacky things humans have used to create some alcohol to have a jolly good time!

 Charcuterie boards

My friend, Nadia, has told me on many an occasion that one cannot have too many Charcuterie boards! I have come to accept that as a fact over the years. They do make the perfect gifts as it's hard to find someone that isn't excited about one of these gorgeous live edge pieces. Bonus
if you gift the experience of making your own board to someone. Look for boards made out of wood that's been salvaged from a recently fallen tree in your area.

Bittered Sling | Cocktail Bitters

I distinctly remember the day I came across this brand of bitters. I was so amused at the name and its origin that I had to include it here for you to read. It is also the best definition of a cocktail ever - "A stimulating liquor composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water and bitters. It is commonly called a bittered sling and is supposed to be an excellent electioneering potion in as much as it renders the heart stout and bold, at the same time that it fuddles the head." I highly recommended the Gift box containing 6 different bitters!

Cindy's Gift Guide | For the Plant Lover

Butterfly Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

The Niagara Butterfly Conservatory is one of my favourite places in Ontario and one of the largest conservatories in North America. It is open year-round, making it the perfect break from our harsh Canadian winters. Once you enter the conservatory, you will be greeted by literally countless butterflies and a variety of beautiful flowers and tropical plants. It is easy to spend an entire afternoon chasing butterflies and awing over the size of your house plants in what would be their ideal climate. There is also a smaller but just as beautiful conservatory worth visiting in Cambridge, Ontario, which is also home to birds, bugs and turtles!

These macrame plant holders add such a beautiful boho touch to any space. I've only ever seen them made in solid colours, but Freefille offers so many fun colours and designs. I also use mine as a fruit basket in my kitchen. This has helped free up space on my counter and looks super cute.

These seed cards by Ten Tree are such an great gift for the plant lover! Made with 100% seed paper, they can be planted indoors and outdoors. With each card you will receive a unique code to view the tree you helped plant with your card. Although the cards are blank, the plant lover will love the idea behind this.
